Earth’s Climate

By Joyline Chai · 15 January 2025

Many people travel overseas for business, leisure or events. I did the same, until a recent visit to Taiwan — a place I considered familiar — triggered a different kind of thinking.

Climate is often discussed as a distant policy theme. Standing in a place I thought I already understood, I was reminded that environmental change is not an abstract file. It shows up in how we move, what we notice, and what we can no longer take for granted.

For business leaders, the useful question is not only “what is happening to the planet?” It is “what does this mean for the decisions we make, the information we collect, and the people we ask to act?”
